Princeville, Hawaii , July 10, 2015 – The St. Regis Princeville Resort is delighted to announce that the renowned property has partnered with designer Heidi Merrick on a limited edition collection of beachwear created exclusively for the resort. Featuring a design inspired by the beloved destination of Kauaʻi and The St. Regis Princeville Resort, the collection includes a rash guard for women and children.
“Possessing a love for Kauaʻi, a passion for surfing and a design aesthetic embracing the ocean, Heidi is a perfect partner for us,” stated Todd Raessler, General Manager of The St. Regis Princeville Resort. “We are excited to debut the collection and offer our guests the opportunity to have a small piece of St. Regis and the destination no matter where they are.”
Inspired by the land and natural surroundings of Kaua‘i, the beachwear collection by Merrick for The St. Regis Princeville Resort showcases a photographic image depicting the breathtaking view of Hanalei Bay and the iconic Bali Hai as seen from the property. The vibrant blue and green hues of the ocean, sky and lush Bali Hali portrayed in the image are broken into horizontal stripes that beautifully cascade down the rash guard, resulting in a distinctive design and creative twist on the iconic and unparalleled view that has captivated guests since St. Regis opened its doors in Kaua‘i. The design also speaks Merrick’s ready to wear looks as her collections feature clean lines and oftentimes stripes.
“The view of Hanalei Bay from the property is one I will never forget and we strived to capture the beauty and spirit of Kauaʻi and The St. Regis Princeville Resort,” said Merrick on her inspiration and design for the collection.
A native Californian, Heidi Merrick was raised in Carpinteria and is the daughter of legendary surfboard shaper, Al Merrick. Having been brought up in the surfing world, Heidi’s fashion reflects a love of clean lines and the ocean. The collection, that began 2006 with a 4-piece collection that Merrick draped, patterned and sewed herself, has grown into a global label sold in boutiques across the US, UK, Canada, Kuwait, Hong Kong and Japan. The collection of ready to wear and home goods is designed and produced in Los Angeles, California. It has become an homage to the California lifestyle with Merrick manufacturing responsibly and locally.
The women’s rash guards retail for $230 each and are offered in sizes extra small, small, medium and large. The children’s rash guards retail for $160 each and are offered in sizes extra small, small and medium. The fabric offers SPF/UV 50+ protection. The collection will be available for purchase at the resort’s Halele’a Spa and through www.HeidiMerrick.com.
