“We essentially kept the outer walls of the original building and created a completely new ultra-luxurious facility behind them that bares no trace of its former life,” Mita says proudly. “And naturally, we totally changed the exterior look of the property. The Achristavest team of architects, builders and designs by HGTV and The Travel Channel‘s Blanche Garcia, carefully studied everything from sunrises to sunsets, sweeping starlit skies and even the movements of the ocean’s tides before developing plans for Hotel Icona Diamond Beach.

“This project was exciting for us at B. garcia designs,” says Blanche Garcia, “because we immediately saw the strong mid-century architecture in the building. The celebration of this architecture is seen perfectly in the boutique hotels of Palm Springs. We wanted a more relaxed interpretation, which we were able to achieve with design elements found in chic Miami’s South Beach.” Garcia adds, “Hotel Icona Diamond Beach was our way of bringing these iconic designs to the Jersey Shore.”
